Hi, I'm Paula D Moore. Welcome to my profile!

Paula D Moore's Bio:

"When I'm ready to make a photograph, I think I quite obviously see in my mind’s eye something that is not literally there in the true meaning of the word. I'm interested in something which is built up from within, rather than just extracted from without." ~ Ansel Adams The lens through which Paula Moore sees the world has been fueled by her admiration and study of Ansel Adams. It has advanced by virtue of her passion, curiosity and 30 years of looking through a lens that is uniquely hers. Her refined skill at finding the beauty in minutiae is as powerful as her ability to capture a landscape that evokes an emotional response. Nature and nurture have come together to provide Moore with a solid foundation in aesthetics and art. As a toddler growing up in Alaska, her father developed a passion and aptitude for photography that inspired Paula to push the limits of what the lens could capture as she honed her technical expertise. Her father was the first of many passionate instructors to teach her darkroom technique and timing and light. Her teen years segued from formal instruction in oil painting to receiving her first 35mm camera on her 17th birthday. The Canon AE1, with the wide array of lenses, proved to be all the motivation needed to transform Paula from curious to deeply involved. She received her associates degree in Commercial Illustration from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 1985 and moved to Chicago to take her first job as a Photographic Assistant. The rigors of the job provided little time to pursue her own artistic endeavors, but all the necessary gear to explore the uncharted territory unfamiliar to a budding photography professional. The challenges and opportunities born on the heels of this first job have propelled her into a 30+ year relationship with her art that conveys her passion and innate ability to engage and pique curiosity. “When you look at my photographs I hope you will see the beauty the world has to offer, as I do. I hope to share the passion that comes from my camera to your heart. It is my most sincere wish that these photographs give you great joy and touch your heart, as they have mine.”  From my eyes to yours, Paula D Moore
